Sweet Pea Botanical Art Workshop – 10-4pm

13 July 2024 10:00 to 16:00

Join us for an ‘art from the garden’ workshop, celebrating the sweet pea, led by professional gardener and artist Jacky Mills.

Spend the day immersed in the intoxicating beauty of sweet peas, exploring ways to capture the flowering stems on paper with a range of pencils, pens, inks and watercolour washes. In a small group of 12, there will be warm up exercises and contour drawings, notes on composition and sweet pea morphology plus plenty of freshly cut flowers to sketch from with lots of hints, tips and guidance along the way.

Jacky runs botanically themed art workshops through The Botanical Sketch Club and is a freelance writer and garden consultant. Her work has featured frequently in Gardens Illustrated magazine. Having previously worked with leading garden designers, Dan Pearson and Arne Maynard, she currently works with Sarah Price Landscapes.

Please arrive 9.30 – 10.00am for tea and biscuits. A delicous vegetarian lunch, with produce from the garden, is included and afternoon tea and cake. If you have any specific dietary requests do let us know on the booking form.
