Botanical Block Printing Workshop
12 October 2024 10:00 to 16:00
Join Amanda Honey, Garden Designer, stylist and creator of Caisson Gardens and the wonderfully talented art teacher Alexandra Hucks as you immerse yourself in a day of creativity and nature at Caisson Gardens, exploring pattern and printmaking on textiles.
Learn the basic principles of block printing, using carved wooden blocks and foliage from the beautiful gardens and landscape that surround you, allowing time to explore the gardens and select your own leaves.
The morning will consist of experimenting with the design process and imagery from the natural forms and carved blocks, moving on to explore different compositions and colour mixing during the afternoon.
You will take home 4 napkins and 1 tea-towel – all 100% linen – with your beautiful designs adorned on them.
The workshop will take place in our Studio, a stylish and inspiring space, set in the glorious grounds of Caisson House.
This is a beginner friendly workshop.
Included in your day are tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival, a delicious light vegetarian lunch with produce from the garden, afternoon tea and homemade cake. Do let us know of any dietary requirements on the booking form.
All materials are provided. You may wish to wear old clothes or bring an apron – it can get messy!
